Mr Ron Bartsch
Ron has over 30 years’ experience in the aviation industry in a variety of senior operational, safety and regulatory roles. As former head of safety and regulatory compliance of Qantas Airways Limited, and a senior manager with the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Ron has operational, safety and regulatory experience across all sectors of the aviation industry.
As an experienced pilot Ron has in excess of 7,000 flying hours, a current Air Transport Pilot Licence and ratings on over 30 aircrafttypes including command endorsements on the Beechjet and Boeing 717. He also has formal qualifications and degrees in law, education, science and the arts and undertaking PhD studies. Admitted as a Barrister to the High Court of Australia in 1993 Ron has consulted throughout the world and in the Asia-Pacific region.
A former high school mathematics and science teacher, Ron has for the past 15 years been a Senior Lecturer at the University of NSW and is author of numerous publications including the best selling Aviation Law in Australia (3rd Ed), contributing author for the aviation title of Halsbury’s Laws of Australia and author of International Aviation Law. Ron is an aviation specialist member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
Mr Cameron Tanner
Cameron Tanner is an A380 Pilot at Qantas Airways and a Senior Associate and consultant lawyer at AvLaw Aviation Consultants, the Australian member of the AvLaw International Network. Prior to entering the aviation industry as a commercial airline pilot, Cameron worked as a solicitor at the law firm Cooper Grace and Ward in Brisbane.
Since joining the AvLaw team Cameron has worked in commercial contractual and aviation regulatory matters. Cameron’s blend of international aircraft operations and legal qualifications and experience, brings a unique perspective to the AvLaw International management team.
Mr Wahyuni Bahar
Mr. Wahyuni Bahar is the founding partner at Bahar & Partners, the AvLaw International Law Firm Member for Indonesia. Prior to establishing Bahar & Partners Mr Bahar was a lecturer in Padjadjaran University, Bandung and Trisakti University, Jakarta, on various subjects, including air and space law, telecommunications law and international law.
Mr Bahar actively attends various international training programs, colloquia and seminars on corporate finance, capital markets, trade and environmental law and is entrusted by many domestic and international organizations with acting as a speaker in the fields of capital markets, securities, cross-border M&A, investment, Islamic financing, telecommunications and aviation.
Mr Bahar holds a Master’s of Law degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada with a thesis on private satellite communications operations, and completed a Postgraduate Diploma program in Law at the Institute of Social Studies, the Hague, the Netherlands.
Mr Wayne Thompson
Wayne has over 35 years of experience in the insurance and risk management consultancy industries in a variety of educational, technical, operational and senior management roles. He has worked within the transport, construction, mining, leisure, retail, logistics, entertainment and multiple product manufacturing business sectors around the world.
His tertiary education has included Architecture, Building Construction, Work Health & Safety, Fire Technology and Fire Protection Engineering. Wayne is also accomplished in Risk Management, Stakeholder Management, Project Delivery & Planning, Business Processes & Strategy, Change Management and Business Continuity Planning. He has lectured within the Risk Management space and authored a series of papers relating too many of these segments.
He was instrumental in the establishment of his own risk management consultancy company in Australia and for 3rd parties in Asia, providing the means and mechanisms for the procurement and delivery of services to private and government groups.
Wayne is currently the Leader of a Risk Engineering team within the Suncorp Group which is the leading provider of general insurance, banking, life insurance and wealth management in Australia and New Zealand. His primary role is management and technical support. Secondary wise, he continues to travel the globe conducting risk evaluation audits upon facilities endeavouring to improve their risk profile.
